When she went to sleep after protesting in Ferguson, artist and social entrepreneur De Nichols was haunted by a recurring nightmare, her dreams tormented by what she had experienced and seen. In this piece, Nichols tells the story of how she and fellow artists and protesters turned that nightmare into a piece of art that now belongs to the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture.
