Bethany Johnson-Javois, CEO of the St. Louis Integrated Health Network, and the former managing director of the Ferguson Commission, is frequently invited to speak on the lessons of the Ferguson Commission and the impact of its work. But she says that back home in St. Louis, it’s often difficult to convene people to talk about that same work — and that what most stands in the way of progress for St. Louis is an unwillingness to recognize the resources and insights we have in abundance right here in our own backyard.
